Art Fairs

Jano Lapin Gallery is committed to promoting the work of its represented artists in art fairs, as they represent crucial opportunities for promotion and visibility of both the artists and their artworks. We are dedicated to showcasing Canadian artwork on the global stage, facilitating connections, and encouraging cultural exchange. As we reflect on our past engagements, we eagerly anticipate the chance to further disseminate the rich diversity of Canadian artistic expression internationally. Below, you'll find some highlights of our gallery's experiences in art fairs.

FUTURE FAIR

May 2024 Edition

Future Fair grew out of the desire to build a capsule sized exhibition for galleries who participate in a global art market. Focused on transparency and equitability, we believe that through innovative, direct collaboration with and between exhibitors we can build a stronger community that moves artists and galleries forward.

Future Fair officially launched in 2020, an unprecedented year eclipsed by the Covid-19 pandemic. With the postponement of the physical art fair to 2021, Future Fair Online was organized and commenced its debut edition on May 6 as part of a six week initiative, featuring a virtual kick-off event and sales for its 41 international galleries and project spaces. The program uplifted the voices of dealers and artists through online live events, artist interviews, kick-backs with DJ sets and editorial newsletters. All of which proved that meaningful, digital experiences can be made for art and the sales that support it.

The 2024's edition is unique, with Frieze, NADA, and 1-54 all hosting their fairs just a few blocks away from our venue. With a significant influx of national and international visitors expected specifically for these fairs, we are well positioned to attract attention.

Future Fair has also collaborated with the Consulate General of Canada in New York, further enhancing visibility to raise awareness of participating Canadian galleries.

PLURAL

August 2022 Edition

Plural celebrates the best of contemporary art in Canada. Created by and for galleries, the fair brings together and presents the plurality of voices and works in contemporary art in the country. It elevates the practices of the art market: on one hand, with a rigorous selection of galleries showcasing carefully chosen artists and works; on the other hand, through accessible programming addressing current themes in the field of arts. Plural promotes the discovery of new voices and forms of cutting-edge contemporary art expression, while fostering a sense of community within the Canadian artistic community.
