Egg tempera on masonite panel, decorative moulding, 10” x 12”, 2019
The work is framed with treated poplar and decorative moulding
This piece composes collaged photographic fragments and botanic objects as connectors to memory and tradition.
The foliage is taken from the climbing rose bush that grows outside my childhood home. The image is taken from the October, 1988: ‘Berghotels' issue of Schweiz Revue detailing the bathroom of a mid-nineteenth century Swiss hotel.
The egg tempera medium is permanent painting medium mixed by hand using dry pigments, water and egg yolk.
