Egg tempera on masonite panel, decorative moulding, 10” x 12”, 2019
This piece composes collaged photographic fragments and botany as connectors to memory and tradition.
The lilac flower is taken from the lilac tree that grows outside my bedroom window; the same flowers present at my grandparent’s wedding in June, 1961. The image is taken from my parent’s wedding in September, 1995; my mother’s bouquet of flowers.
The egg tempera medium is permanent painting medium mixed by hand using dry pigments, water and egg yolk.
